The OSTİMTECH Education Model is a third-generation, entrepreneurial and innovative university approach and focuses on producing solutions with original projects. OSTİM Technical University reflects a research-oriented, innovative and development-oriented higher education model by adopting a culture that values ​skills, knowledge, behavior and competency. The curriculum is designed to combine theoretical knowledge with versatile practical approaches in order to support this model. The OSTİMTECH Education Model, which was created based on the research conducted during the establishment process of the university as well as the local and international academic and sectoral experiences of the founding team and the board of trustees, includes the following unique features: Applied Education Model, Entrepreneurship Score Card, Difference-Making Courses.​

In this context, the MIS program has been specially designed to carry our students to success in business life. In order to ensure that our students can reach their true potential, a high-quality educational environment has been created with the most up-to-date academic information. Students will gain the problem-solving, managerial and technical skills you need to reach the center of the problems and solve them as an information systems specialist through Management Information Systems. With the acquired skills, they will learn communication techniques, creating new business ideas and developing technology-oriented solutions for solving complex problems.

Management Information Systems is a discipline that emerged from the needs of industry and the market at the intersection of disciplines in technical fields such as Computer, Software and Industrial Engineering and Social Sciences disciplines such as Finance, Marketing, Business and Management; and manages people, technology and information systems together. Our department is a department that provides education in a wide range of areas starting from system design and supply management, including all of enterprise resource management, and extending to completely technical information fields such as network and database management. In today's competitive conditions, one of the most important tasks of Management Information Systems is to evaluate data collected from many sources within a system integrity and present it to managers for their decisions in order to facilitate their decision-making processes.

Management Information Systems specialists can work in almost all sectors of both goods and services. OSTİM Technical University Management Information Systems Department graduates meet the management and information needs of the sectors with the contributions of field courses such as workplace experience, workplace application, workplace training entrepreneurship project, while also enabling companies to be managed with a system approach. Our department has a structure that can meet the MIS needs of the sectors with different perspectives in line with the differentiation and focus strategies determined within its structure.

Management Information Systems Specialists, on the one hand, deal with managerial activities such as system designer, project manager, quality assurance manager, business analyst, business development specialist, sales and marketing; on the other hand, they can also perform tasks focused on the IT sector such as database specialist, data analyst, network systems designer, IT specialist, configuration manager.

OSTİM Technical University, a higher education institution located at the heart of the business world, industry and public sector, is located in an important industrial center in our country and was established in strong cooperation with the business world, industry and society. OSTİM Technical University has developed the “Workplace Experience” application, where students will take part in businesses on a certain day of the week starting from the second semester of the first year and throughout the eighth semester, and where students will transfer the knowledge they receive from theoretical education to businesses and the knowledge they receive from businesses to theory.

In the first year of our program, our students are provided with basic Management Information Systems infrastructure. From the second year onwards, students can choose one of the different career plans and will receive training in this field for five semesters, supported by international certifications. In the last semester, they will do an applied internship in the sector they have chosen. Therefore, they are provided with the opportunity to transition to the job market with a high level of adaptation immediately after graduation.

With the “Workplace Experience” application developed within the scope of the applied education model with the slogan “Experienced Graduate”, you will be better prepared for your profession thanks to the field experience you will gain, and you will be able to use the general culture, theoretical knowledge, skills, attitudes and habits you have gained during the learning process in a real workplace environment in the first year of your university education. Thus, your chance of being preferred in the national and international business world will increase with the qualifications you will have.

The language of instruction in the department is 100% Turkish. Preparatory class is not compulsory, our students who wish to do so may choose to take a preparatory class to improve their English language skills.

Within the framework of the Regulation on Transfer, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, double major and minor programs can be done at our university. Within this scope, students of the Management Information Systems (Turkish) department can do double major and minor programs in other departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and in other faculties by taking into account the relevant YKS score types and rankings by meeting the necessary conditions determined by the departments in which they want to do double major or minor at the beginning of the third and fifth semesters at the earliest.
