Filiz Ersöz earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Statistics at Anadolu University in 1989, her Master’s degree in 1992, and her Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Ankara University in 1998. She worked as a Statistician at the Turkish Statistical Institute (1989–2001), an Operations Research Specialist at the Turkish Land Forces Command (2001–2006), and a Stochastic Processes Specialist at the Turkish Military Academy (2006–2012). In 2011, she received the title of Associate Professor in Quantitative Decision Methods. From 2012 to 2023, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Karabük University, holding positions such as Department Chair, Director of the Graduate School of Science, and serving on various committees. She conducted postdoctoral research at the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, University of Florida (2013, 2015) and taught part-time at Özyeğin University. During 2023–2024, she worked as a researcher in the Artificial Intelligence Group at the University of Pisa, Information Engineering Department. Her research focuses on Statistics, Data Science, System Simulation and Modeling, Data Mining, Decision Theory, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. ​
