He holds a Master’s degree in Capital Markets and a Ph.D. in Banking from Marmara University. He has also attended various training programs at the Wharton School and New York University. Having grown up apprenticing in marketplaces known as schools of trade and life, such as Sultanhamam and the Grand Bazaar, Halisdemir was appointed CEO of a bank in the 12th year of his professional career, which began in 1995. He established Turkey’s first digital bank and the largest investment bank, introduced numerous international innovations, received awards, and led transformations across multiple areas throughout his career. Halisdemir currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Turkey Finance Managers Foundation, the most established non-profit organization in the Turkish financial sector.
